West Palm Beach Reimagined: From CityPlace to a Place in the City

In Fall 2018, the reimagination of the streetscape began along Rosemary Avenue from Okeechobee Blvd to Hibiscus Street in West Palm Beach, Florida. This stretch of Rosemary Avenue has been the ‘Main Street’ of the CityPlace neighborhood since opening in 2000. With the opening of Hilton West Palm Beach, Restoration Hardware: The Gallery and the Brightline train station, this corridor has become an even more important connector in the heart of our downtown.

The goal is to create an inspiring locally authentic district: a connected environment that enhances the way we live, work and play.

Alongside new restaurants, shops and entertainment, we plan to develop new residential, hotel and office accommodations in the coming 5 years. This will continue to bring even more life and vibrancy to our neighborhood, creating a fruitful place in an unforgettable location for shopping, eating, entertainment and the arts.

Phase 1: Reimagining Rosemary Avenue

We believe new experiences deserve a new setting, so we are making significant changes to the streetscape along Rosemary Avenue and Hibiscus Street. These enhancements will make for a more pleasant and pedestrian-friendly environment, as well as create a range of new spots to rejuvenate, relax and recharge.

New District Approach

We are pioneering a new approach to creating interactive shopping, dining and entertainment experiences, examining the intersection between our consumers, tastemakers, West Palm and our district’s physical environment to create experiences that are unique to our neighborhood.

It is vital that whatever we do is authentic to West Palm, whether working with the best in local artists, chefs, creatives, entrepreneurs and fitness enthusiasts to encouraging national brands to find a unique West Palm expression of their distinct proposition.

What the community is saying…

What I’m excited about Related’s plans for CityPlace is that there’s this very strong partnership between the private and the public sector. Downtown [West Palm Beach] has evolved as CityPlace has evolved. It’s always about driving things forward, and having a partner like Related making such a significant investment with creative change is going to plug right into the bigger picture.

“We’re building a reputation for The Palm Beaches as the premier destination to host meetings and conventions. CityPlace’s expansion will help to enhance the destination’s ‘Convention Campus’ appeal, by creating a more walkable epicenter to explore arts and culture, genuine neighborhood experiences and the ability enjoy the region’s tropical allure – all within walking distance of the Palm Beach County Convention Center and headquarter hotel. This development has the potential to serve as an important component to meeting planners when planning events here, with positive impacts on the area’s businesses and local economy.”
